FAISON IMPROVEMENT GROUP, INC (a.k.a. FIG)

ARTICLE I. NAME
The name of this organization shall be the FAISON IMPROVEMENT GROUP, INC. a non-profit North Carolina corporation. The corporation shall be hereinafter referred to as FIG.
ARTICLE II. PURPOSES
The purposes of FIG shall be to promote goodwill, seek and assist with; economic development, future planning, beautification, industrial development, educational development and improvement of the quality of life in general in and for the town of Faison, North Caorlina and the surrounding Greater Faison Area of approximately a ten (10) mile radius, and to enter into activities and conduct projects that would promote these purposes, enhance living in the vicinity and attract newcomers, visitors, and new businesses to the Greater Faison Area.
ARTICLE III. MEETINGS
Section 1. General Membership Meetings
One general meeting will be held monthly at a date and place designated by the Board of Directors.
Section 2. Board of Directors Meetings
The Board of Directors will meet a least quarterly on a date; place and time designated by the presiding officer and such other times as to conduct the business of the organization.
Section 3. Special Meetings
(A) With approval of the Board of Directors, the President may call Special meetings of the General Membership of the Board of Directors.
(B) Special meetings of the General Membership or the Board of Directors may be requested in writing to the Board of Directors if signed by ten (10) or more members and outlining the purpose for the called meeting.
Section 4. Quorum
(A) Quorum of the General Membership: One-Fourth (1/4) of the current adult general membership shall constitute a quorum at all meetings of the general membership.
(B) Quorum of the Board of Directors: Fifty Percent (50%) of the current Board of Directors shall constitute a quorum at all meetings of the Board of Directors.
ARTICLE IV. MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Eligibility
Membership is open to persons in the Faison area and to any person, organization, profit or non-profit corporation and group, subscribing to the purposes and objectives of FIG, paying the appropriate dues, and meeting the requirements as set forth herein.
